The Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Center, together with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland, RVO), capped off the series of knowledge sharing sessions (KSS) on solid waste management (SWM) this year with a concluding session titled, Hybrid Seminar: Development of Local PPPs in the Integrated SWM Sector on December 14, 2023, at the PPP Center Board Room and online via Zoom.

The session follows the two-part KSS on integrated SWM last April and September 2023, where the elements of SWM, its forms and solutions in a global context, and the tools applicable to SWM PPP projects, to name a few, were introduced.

For this session, Mr. Hans Breukelman –  SWM subject-matter expert – synthesized the learnings from the previous KSS, and mentioned key experiences of the Provincial Government of Catanduanes’ SWM project developed under technical assistance by the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

Seventy (70) online and thirty-eight (38) in-person attendees composed of executive, legislative, technical, and administrative officers from various national government agencies, local government units, government-owned-and-controlled corporations, regional line agencies, and organizations catering to local governments, attended the activity.
