San Roque Multi-purpose Hydroelectric Powerplant

Project Brief
Project Description

The project includes a below ground powerhouse with three (3) 115-megawatt turbine-generators and a nearly six-mile-long 230-kilowatt transmission line. Other facilities of the project include a concrete chute spillway to handle excess water, a power tunnel/penstock for routing water from the reservoir to the power plant and an electrical substation. In addition to the dam’s production of non-polluting hydroelectric power, its five-square-mile reservoir serves as a settling basin that will entrap sediment above the dam, thus improving water quality below the dam.

The Operator shall be responsible for the design, construction, installation, completion, testing and commissioning of the Power Station.
