UP Philippine General Hospital (UP-PGH) Diliman Project

Project Brief
Project Description

The Project is envisioned to be a new 400-bed public hospital (with potential for further expansion through an adjoining in-patient building, if needed in the future) to be located in the Arboretum site within the campus of UP Diliman in Quezon City and providing multi-specialty services. The construction of a 400-bed hospital at PGH Diliman will provide needed additional hospital bed capacity for patients in the target catchment which covers NCR and the contiguous provinces of Bulacan and Rizal.

Project Objectives

The goal of UP and PGH is to have PGH Diliman as a world-class hospital accessible to the poor. PGH Diliman will serve as the core referral facility for all primary and secondary health facilities in Quezon City and contiguous areas and will help decongest the overcrowded hospitals located in Diliman. Taking advantage of its proximity to the Philippine Genome Center, the colleges of Engineering and the other Sciences, PGH Diliman will be an ideal place for generating innovations and breakthroughs in medicine. Government resources can be optimized further by collaborating with the other agencies surrounding it both for clinical and research activities.
