Socioeconomic Planning Secretary and Public-Private Partnership Governing Board (PPPGB) Chairperson Arsenio M. Balisacan swore into office Atty. Ferdinand D. Tolentino as the newly appointed Private Sector Representative to the Board, on March 5, 2024, at the NEDA Board Room in Pasig City.

Prior to his appointment, Atty. Tolentino served as the Deputy Executive Director of the PPP Center in 2012. He also served several roles such as the Board Director and Committee Chairperson of the Small Business Corporation, a government-owned controlled corporation under the Department of Trade and Industry, Commissioner of the Tariff Commission, and an Independent Director of the CLSA Philippines. Currently, he serves as an Adviser for Aboitiz Infra Capital.

As a member of the PPPGB, Atty. Tolentino is expected to bring new perspectives and insights to advance the Philippine PPP Program. His legal expertise and proven commitment to cultivating partnerships between the public and private sector makes him a valuable asset in steering the PPP policy direction towards sustainable development and economic growth.

Republic Act No. 11966 or the PPP Code of the Philippines mandates the inclusion of a private sector representative from the infrastructure sector to sit in the PPPGB.

The PPPGB is the overall policy-making body for all PPP-related matters, including the Project Development and Monitoring Facility. The Board. It is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the PPP Program and creating an enabling policy and institutional environment for PPPs in the Philippines.
