The Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Center held the second run of the online capacity-building activity on dispute resolution in PPP Projects on March 24-25, 2022, via Zoom, following the success of its rollout in 2021.

Organized in collaboration with Infrastructure Asia and the Office for Alternative Dispute Resolution (OADR), the two-day event aimed to provide the participants and the implementing agencies with information on Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanisms and promote its use in PPP contracts.

During the activity, OADR Executive Director Atty. Irene D.T. Alogoc and Atty. Ali Loraine V. Manrique gave a lecture on Republic Act No. 9285 otherwise known as Alternative Dispute Resolution Act of 2004 and ADR Mechanism, and on the Executive Order (EO) No. 78 and Drafting of Arbitration Agreement, respectively. Meanwhile, Atty. Lester A. Anonuevo, the division chief of PPP Center’s Project Monitoring Division, discussed Dispute Avoidance Procedures and Dispute Management.

Moreover, among the highlights of the activity was the interactive discussion where the Singapore International Mediation Center and the Dentons Rodyk & Davidson LLP shared their best practices on alternative dispute resolutions. The discussion was moderated by Infrastructure Asia.

Around 80 participants attended the said online capacity-building activity. These include representatives from the national government agencies, regional line agencies, government-owned and controlled corporations, and local government units.
