The Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Center of the Philippines and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) commenced their partnership on the project, “Accelerating Green and Climate Finance in the Philippines: Nature-Based Solutions (Climate Finance PH-NBS)” through a kickoff meeting with Polestrom Consulting, Inc. on April 23, 2024.

The project, which is supported by the Government of Canada, will facilitate initiatives on increasing public and private sector investments towards mitigating impacts of climate change and improving the resilience of national and local government agencies and communities through gender-responsive nature-based solutions (NBS).

The PPP Center is a key partner in the achievement of project deliverables, particularly in developing and implementing innovative green and climate finance solutions, increasing the portfolio of bankable green and climate PPP projects, and promoting greater investments in NBS through adopted procedures and guidelines. As one of the main outputs, the partnership will also support the development of a gender-sensitive business case for a select PPP project.

The technical working groups from the PPP Center and UNDP, together with the project team leader, and PPP and business case specialists from Polestrom Consulting, Inc., discussed the major outputs, expected deliverables, and project timelines for 2024-2025.
