DOH Introductory Course on PPP (Batch 2)

The Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Center, in collaboration with the Department of Health (DOH), conducted the second run of PPP Introductory Course for DOH Visayas and Mindanao Cluster on August 16-17, 2023 at the Grand Menseng Hotel, Davao City.

The training is designed to equip participants on PPP fundamentals to further promote and advocate PPPs for health towards achieving universal health care and providing access to quality health services to Filipinos.

Director Feroisa T. Concordia of the Center’s Capacity Building and Knowledge Management Service (CBKMS) presented the Philippine PPP Program, its concepts and legal frameworks, including an overview of the PPP project life cycle processes, as well as the scope of the PPP Center’s role and assistance especially to the health sector.

During the activity, selected participants presented possible projects to be undertaken through PPP, while the Center provided initial comments on how they can improve their proposals.

For its part, the DOH PPP Unit committed to coordinate with the concerned hospitals to refine their proposals and prioritize the most viable project to be included in their PPP pipeline of projects.

Batch 2 participants were composed of representatives from the following DOH affiliated hospitals and offices from Visayas and Mindanao: Central Visayas CHD; Eastern Visayas CHD, Davao CHD; SOCCSKSARGEN CHD; Central Visayas CHD; Ministry of Health; Caraga CHD; Adela Serra Ty Memorial Medical Center; Amai Pakpak Medical Center; Basilan General Hospital; Camiguin General Hospital; Caraga Regional Hospital; Cebu South Medical Center; Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Medical Center; Cotabato Regional and Medical Center; Cotabato Sanitarium and General Hospital; Davao Occidental General Hospital; Don Emilio Del Valle Memorial Hospital; Don Jose S. Monfort Medical Center; Eastern Visayas Medical Center; Eversley Childs Sanitarium and General Hospital; Gov. Benjamin T. Romualdez General Hospital; Mayor Hilarion A. Ramiro Sr. Medial Center; Mindanao Central Sanitarium General Hospital; SOCCSKSARGEN General Hospital; St. Anthony Mother and Child Hospital; Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center Western Visayas Medical Center; DOH TRCs Cagayan De Oro, Iloilo and Caraga; and the PPP for Health Program Office. Representatives from Cagayan Valley Medical Center were also present in the activity.
