PPP Center Attends British Embassy Workshop on Public-Private Partnership

The PPP Center participated in the “National Forum and Workshop on Public-Private Partnership” conducted by the British Embassy in Manila last March 8-9, at the Intercontinental Hotel, Manila.

Cognizant of the importance of PPP as an effective policy to bridge the infrastructure gap, the workshop aimed at strengthening investor and public confidence in the revised PPP framework by improving the knowledge and enhancing the capacity of national agencies of the Philippine government in developing, executing, monitoring and evaluating Public Private Partnership (PPP) projects.

The forum/workshop was intended to increase the capacity of Philippine government agencies to implement PPP projects both at the national and local levels, provide agencies with lessons from the UK PPP experience, identify arenas for cooperation and support for the successful implementation of the PPP, and contribute to the over-all economic agenda of the President based on the PPP scheme.

Industry experts, practitioners, and other stakeholders in the Philippine infrastructure development program attended two-day workshop. Representatives from the NEDA, DOF, DOH, DPWH,  DOTC, DTI-BOI, Office of the Solicitor General were among those who benefitted from event.
