The Public-Private Partnership Center (PPPC) in collaboration with Asian Development Bank (ADB) conducted a three-day training-workshop for the National Economic and Development Authority Regional Offices (NROs) PPP Knowledge Corner (PPP KC) Focals on June 26-28, 2018 in Quezon City. This is part of the Center’s local PPP strategy to further ensure that its free services and the PPP program’s presence spread across the country through the NROs.
PPP KC focals from fifteen (15) NROs and a representative from NEDA Regional Development Office were capacitated on PPP Concepts and Processes under the Amended Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) Law and Joint Venture frameworks.
On January 29, 2018, the PPP Center and its mother agency, NEDA, signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to establish PPP KC in the NROs. Local implementing agencies such as local government units (LGUs), water districts, State, Universities and Colleges (SUCs), and other PPP stakeholders in the regions, now have an access point where they can tap the Center’s services to help them roll out bankable and viable PPP Projects.
The NRO PPP Focals manage these Corners with support from the Center’s Capacity Building and Knowledge Management Service (CBKMS) and will entertain walk-in clients and online queries on PPPs. Updated information on Philippine PPPs are also available in the Corners through various knowledge products and information, education, and communication materials.
As of June 2018, 14 PPP KCs have been launched in the country. NRO CALABARZON will launch its own PPP KC before the end of this year.
