The Philippine PPP Program at the 2nd APEC Workshop on Infrastructure. PPP Center Director IV ELEAZAR E. RICOTE chaired the first session of the APEC 2nd Workshop on Infrastructure held in Palembang, South Sumatra in Indonesia. The session explored the rationale for private sector’s extended role in publicly-sponsored infrastructure. The Philippine PPP Center was invited to the Workshop in recognition of its significant progress in moving the country’s PPP Program, in the areas of project structuring, project development facility management, institutional capacity building, policy and process reforms. Most speakers and experts from development agencies and the private sector that provided analyses and assessment of PPP and infrastructure development growth in the region, noted the same positive developments and innovations (i.e. the PDMF, Phil Infra Fund, Knowledge Portal Project) in the Philippine PPP Program which can be critical inputs to the proposed APEC PPP Advisory Council.
