The Department of Health (DOH) and Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) held the Investors’ Conference for the Dialysis Center Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Project for the Renal Center Facility of the BGHMC on January 16, 2024 in Baguio City.
The conference provided an avenue for the DOH, BGHMC, and PPP Center to engage with the private sector, fostering collaborative dialogues and sharing essential details of the health PPP project.
The key resource speakers who enriched the discussion with their expertise includes Undersecretary Maria Francia M. Laxamana of the DOH, Medical Center Chief of the BGHMC Dr. Ricardo B. Runez, and Executive Director Ma. Cynthia C. Hernandez and Director Raphael M. Badillo of the PPP Center. This initiative marks a significant stride towards enhancing health infrastructures in the region.
The event was attended by around 100 participants, from a diverse spectrum of stakeholders, including hemodialysis operators, healthcare providers, investors/financing companies, non-governmental organizations (NGOs)s, public and private hospitals, and various government offices. Government officials including Kalinga Governor James S. Edduba, Municipality of Tuba, Benguet Mayor Clarita Sal-ongan, and NEDA-CAR Regional Director Susan A. Sumbeling were also present.
Interested parties are invited to qualify and bid for the financing, design, retrofit, supply, operation, and maintenance of a functional dialysis center within the BGHMC Compound. The facility is poised to cater hemodialysis patients in the Province of Benguet and surrounding areas, under a 16-year Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) scheme under the PPP modality.
