The government is set to hold a pre-bid conference and investors’ forum for public-private partnership (PPP) projects this week.

The Department of Justice (DOJ), Bureau of Corrections (BuCor), and PPP Center are inviting business groups to join the investors’ forum on Friday, March 20, for the Regional Prison Facilities through PPP Project. The forum will be held at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City. The Php 50.18 billion prison facilities project is the first of its kind in the country. The project will entail the construction and maintenance of a modern prison facility in Fort Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija. Meanwhile, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is holding a pre-bid conference for the Php 55.51 billion Cavite Laguna (CaLa) Expressway Project, also this coming Friday, March 20, 2:00 PM. It will be conducted at the DPWH Central Office.

The expressway PPP project will provide a critical link for the provinces of Cavite and Laguna connecting two major toll roads – the Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX) and the South Luzon Expressway.

Both projects were rolled out last February 27, this year. As of March 10, there are 60 PPP projects in the pipeline with a total indicative cost of Php 1,226.57 Billion (USD 27.25711 Billion).
