Project Description
The subject unsolicited project will involve the upgrading, O&M, and future expansion of the Laguindingan Airport which will include the following components:
- Taking-over of the O&M of the existing facilities of Laguindingan Airport;
- Execution of the upgrade works, which include initial terminal expansion and refurbishment of the existing terminal;
- Future capacity augmentations through expansion or construction of a new passenger terminal and other buildings, along with all associated infrastructure and facilities;
- Installation of all required equipment and associated facilities;
- Enhancement or development of airside facilities to meet the enhanced scale of operations at the airport; and
- O&M of all enhanced airside facilities, including among others, the apron, runway, and taxiway.
Project Objectives
1. To support both the recovery of the economy from the COVID-19 pandemic and the Government’s thrust to promote regional economic development, and to contribute to unlocking tourism potential.
2. To integrate the new concepts of ‘Green’ Airports and ‘Connected’ Airports into the design, operations, and maintenance of the airport by operating efficiently and sustainably while minimizing undesirable environmental impacts, and by using digital technologies to enhance the passenger experience and improve system efficiency.
