Toledo, Cebu Coal Thermal Power Project

Project Brief
Project Description

The Cebu grid experienced power shortages and the need to resolve the recurring brownouts in 1990 became a primary concern of NPC. Atlas Consolidated Mining and Development Corporation had an existing power generating facility to provide the power requirements of its mining operations. NPC and Atlas entered into a Power Supply Agreement on April 8, 1990 and a Supplementary Agreement and a Coal Supply Agreement on July 8, 1992. NPC and Atlas agreed to put together under one agreement the pertinent provisions, particularly power generation and fuel supply, of the foregoing contracts that will govern the existing contractual relationship between the two parties.
