Redevelopment of City Slaughterhouse

Project Brief
Project Description

The City Abattoir was erected in the late eighties at Cugman area about 7 km away from the city proper. Lately, the facility has been observed that it is becoming outmoded, cramped and inadequate to serve the requirements of the present demand and catering only to livestock animals like cattle, hogs, goat and ostrich averaging 300 heads a day which is beyond its normal capacity. The present site location, containing an area of 7 hectares is ideal for livestock and poultry processing complex with its proximate distance and place with complete existing infrastructure facilities.

The project will have a new improve slaughter building consisting of basic facilities, wastewater treatment plant, improvements of perimeter fence and elevated water tank, concrete roads and parking spaces, poultry dressing plant, livestock auction market building and meat delivery vans as well as the furnishing and supply of stainless steel equipment for livestock animals and chickens.
