Project Description
The proposed integrated multi-modal land transportation terminal in La Union will serve as the center for all local, provincial and inter-regional land travel with destinations in llocos, Cagayan, Baguio, Abra (CAR), NCR and to other parts of the Philippines. It is envisioned that the facility, with a working title of Proposed La Union Integrated Terminal Exchange or simply called “The ITX”, will be the premiere hub for all north bound travelers. The ITX will require a total area of at least 3 hectares in order to accommodate the main building as well as transit bays and parking areas. It is also planned to house a sports complex, tourism center, commercial structures and hostel/ dormitories for the long-term development. An initial allocation of 1.5 hectares for the main terminal building and site improvement is suggested for development amounting to Php 86,625,000.00 and Php 29,020,000.00, respectively, a total of Php 115,645,000.00 suggested as the minimum estimated development cost.
