Project Description
The proposed projects is an innovative energy solution that will provide electricity through a roof-mounted solar PV system which will minimize the dependence on fossil fuels thereby reducing the Province’s carbon footprint and expenditure on electricity. The project is a microgrid system for each faciliy to efficiently govern the eletricity produced, which includes solar panel equipment capable of producing 2.65 Megawatts of solar power, and an 8 Megawatt-hour battery energy storage system.
Project Objectives
The microgrid system ensures that the site locations will not be affected by power outages in the grid. The project will also utilize a battery storage system that can store excess generated electricity that can be used during night time.
