Signing of Memorandum of Agreement with Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for Technical Cooperation Project for Capacity Development of Public-Private Partnership Project Formulation
Representative: Ms. Megumi Muto, Deputy Director General for Southeast Asia and Pacific Development, JICA
The Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) extended its support to the Philippine PPP Program through a grant on technical Cooperation Project for Capacity Development in Public-Private Partnership Project Formulation. This initiative seeks to enhance the capacities of selected implementing agencies within the Philippine Government in the areas of strategic selection, structuring and formulation of PPP projects, particularly as such projects are intended to address the infrastructure gap and promote sustainable economic development in the country.
In this arrangement, the PPP Center will act as the counterpart agency to JICA and will exercise oversight and coordination functions over its implementation.
The Technical Cooperation is slated to commence once the procurement of experts has been completed. The project is targeted to begin in August 2014 and run until the end of 2016.
