President Benigno S. Aquino III is leaving the country for a Working Visit to London, United Kingdom (UK), on June 4-6, 2012, and a State Visit to the United States of America (USA) on June 7-10, 2012, upon the invitation of United States President Barack H. Obama. It will be his 15th foreign travel since he assumed the Presidency on June 30, 2010.

The President’s Working Visit to London is in connection with investment agreements in the Philippine energy sector. He is scheduled to talk with British officials on diplomatic and bilateral issues and with business leaders on trade and economic cooperation between the two countries. After London, he will proceed to the US.

President Aquino first visited the US as Chief Executive on September 20-26, 2010 to attend the 65th United Nations General Assembly in New York, and twice in 2011. The State Visit this month will give the Philippines and the United States an opportunity to assess new challenges and new opportunities in their relations. President Aquino will meet the President Obama on security, trade and economic cooperation and other concerns. He will also discuss with US officials the development efforts in Mindanao and global peacekeeping.

The President will also meet with officials of US business chambers to discuss trade and investment prospects, business process outsourcing, public-private partnership, the core program of his administration, and intensified tourism campaign. He will also hold dialogues with members of Filipino-American communities in Washington, DC, and in Los Angeles, California.
We wish President Benigno S. Aquino III and Members of his Delegation bon voyage on their Working Visit to the United Kingdom and their State Visit to the United States of America.
