A high-level delegation from the Philippines left yesterday for Geneva, Switzerland to promote the public-private partnership (PPP) program of the Aquino administration in PPP Days 2012, a multinational event organized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, World Bank Institute and the Asian Development Bank.

Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Cayetano Paderanga, Jr., Finance Secretary Cesar Purisima and Health Undersecretary Teodoro Herbosa are scheduled to present PPP projects in non-traditional infrastructure during the session.

According to PPP Center Executive Director Cosette Canilao, many investors have already expressed interest in the presentations conducted by the Philippine delegation during the breakout sessions.

The annual PPP Days event involves plenary sessions that allow participating delegates the opportunity to hear straight from the experts their views on the existing trends in the PPP market and other issues surrounding PPPs. It particularly includes two days of presentations and debates among PPP practitioners, managers and experts from the public sector and a day of Business Forum for the private sector representatives.

This year’s PPP Days takes place at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland and runs from February 21-24.
