Around P523.1 billion worth of projects have been added in the latest list of infrastructure flagship projects, based on data released by the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA).

According to the revised list as of May 12 posted on the NEDA website, 13 new projects were added, when compared to the previously released list as of August 19, 2020.
Meanwhile, two projects were removed from the August 2020 list, with a total cost of P38.25 billion.

Among those added is the P7.5 billion Flood Risk Management Project in Cagayan, Tagoloan and Imus Rivers which is already ongoing and up for completion this year.

Also ongoing but to be finished next year is the P8.55 billion Flood Risk Improvement and Management Project-Cagayan De Oro River.

Six projects that were added to the list are ongoing but will be completed in 2023 and beyond, or in the next administration’s term.

These are the P33.98 billion Digital Transformation Centers, P21.35 billion Health System Enhancement to Address and Limit COVID-19 Project, P20.09 billion Philippines COVID-19 Emergency Response Project, P15.09 billion Philippines Seismic Risk Reduction and Resilience Project, P23.5 billion Metro Manila Flood Management Project Phase I and the P175.66 billion Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge.

The data also showed that newly-added projects that are still in the pipeline or projects that are still completing government approvals include the P177.86 billion Laguna Lakeshore Road Network Project, P4.5 billion University of the Philippines-Philippine General Hospital Cancer Center Project, P9.92 billion Iloilo Port, P19.89 billion Davao Sasa Port and P5.2 billion General Santos Port.

On the other hand, removed from the August 2020 list are the P33.98 billion Information and Communications Technology Capability Development and Management Program and the P4.27 billion Bohol Northeast Basin Multipurpose Dam Project.

According to the latest list, 12 projects worth a total of P35.26 billion are ongoing and for completion this year.

The NEDA data also showed that 17 projects which cost P203.22 billion are ongoing and expected to be finished by 2022.

Also, 51 projects valued at P3.28 trillion are ongoing but will be done by 2023 and beyond or after the Duterte administration’s term, while 28 projects with a total cost of P1.08 trillion are in the pipeline.
