MANILA, Philippines — President Benigno S. Aquino III administered the oath of office to newly appointed officials, including Solicitor General Francis Jardeleza and Presidential Adviser on Legislative Affairs Manuel Mamba, at the Rizal Ceremonial Hall in Malacanang Monday.

Jardeleza replaced former solicitor general Joel Cadiz who resigned from his post to go back to private life.

Other officials who took their oath Monday include Cesar Villanueva, chairman of the Governance Commission for Government-Owned and Controlled Corporations (GOCCs); Angela Ignacio and Rainier Butalid, commissioners, Governance Commission for GOCCs; Parisya Taradji, undersecretary, Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD); Rebecca Chato, acting undersecretary, Department of Labor and Employment (DoLE); Elena Ruiz, assistant secretary, Department of Education; Eugene Kaw, assistant secretary, Department of Tourism; Catherine Jennifer Gonzales, assistant secretary, Department of Transportation and Communication;

Roberto Garcia, administrator, Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA); Cosette Canilao, executive director Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Center; Maria Andrea Pasion – Flores, acting executive director, National Book Development Board (NBDB); Joseph Gerard Mabilog, presiding commissioner, National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC); Edmund Tan, commandant of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG); Eduardo Banzon, acting president and chief executive officer of the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth); police chief superintendents Ramon Garcia Ancheta and Marlon Valdez Madrid; and Armed Forces chief of staff Jessie Dellosa.
