MANILA – The government will put up Metro Manila’s third integrated transport terminal near the Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC) in Quezon City.

“We’re working with the Philippine Veterans Affairs Office (PVAO). That seems to be the site,” Department of Transportation and Communications Secretary Joseph Emilio Abaya said.

He said DOTC is in talks with the Department of National Defense (DND) in drafting the memorandum of understanding for the Integrated Transport System (ITS) North Terminal, which will be pursued as a public-private partnership (PPP) project.

DND supervises the PVAO, which oversees the VMMC.

Earlier, DOTC was looking at either the Manila Seedling Bank in Quezon City or the Philippine National Railways (PNR) depot in Caloocan City as possible locations of the ITS North Terminal.

MWM Terminals, a consortium led by Megawide Construction Corporation, topped the bidding for the P2.5-billion ITS Southwest Terminal Project.

Meanwhile, the deadline for the submission and opening of bids for the P4-billion ITS South Terminal Project is scheduled tomorrow.
