The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has earmarked P1.23 billion for the feasibility studies of 82 big-ticket infrastructure projects in the country.
Mark Villar, DPWH secretary, said in a statement feasibility studies, preliminary and detailed engineering design, economic analysis, technical studies and traffic impact assessment are now being done on the projects aimed at furthering improve road network across the country.
In Luzon alone, 33 proposed projects have received study funding including the Samson Road to North Luzon Expressway Connector Link project amounting to P36.9 million and the Alaminos-Lucap Bypass Road in Pangasinan costing P11 million for Ilocos Region.
The Cordillera Administrative Region has received funding for seven projects amounting to P94.4 million which cover Mongol-Nalbu-Alimit-Nattum-Dulao and Boliwog-Abinuan-Alimit roads.
There are also four projects in Cagayan Valley costing P37.5 million, four in Central Luzon for P60 million and seven projects in Calabarzon costing P126.3 million, which include the Batangas Grand Terminal Flyover, Cavite-Batangas Bypass Road and Tanza-Nasugbu Road.
Four road projects in Mimaropa were allotted P68.6 million and five projects in Bicol Region, P47.1 million.
In Visayas, DPWH allocated funding for studies of 19 projects composed of three in Western Visayas for P66.4 million, six in Central Visayas for P106.2 million and 10 projects in Eastern Visayas for P108.9 million, including the Baybay-McArthur and Nabang-Gadgaran Diversion roads.
For Mindanao, 29 projects received appropriation: four projects are in Zamboanga Peninsula for P71.4 million; 11 projects in Northern Mindanao for P160.4 million; four in Davao Region costing P51.5 million; two in Soccsksargen costing P17.4 million; and eight in Caraga which include the Libanga-San Miguel and NRJ Santiago-Cantilan roads, among others.
The Poblacion Sta. Maria-Malungon Road, an inter-regional road connecting Davao del Sur to Sarangani, also received study funding in the amount of P17.4 million.
