The Department of Public Works and Highways and the Department of Transportation on Tuesday opened another part of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Expressway (NAIAx) linking the three terminals of the airport.

Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade and Public Works Secretary Mark Villar opened and inspected the “Christmas lane.”

The newly opened lane gives motorists from Diosdadao Macapagal Boulevard access to the NAIA Terminal 3 and Skyway.

The Christmas lane will be open to motorists starting on Wednesday.

In September, the DPWH opened Phase 2-A of the project which provided access to NAIA Terminals 1, 2 and 3 as well as an interface with the Skyway and Cavite Express Way.
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said by the first quarter of 2017, airport terminals will also be linked to the South Luzon Expressway via NAIAx.

The NAIAx is a P17.9-billion public-private partnership project to ease traffic on roads around the airport complex. San Miguel Corp. won the project in 2013.
