THE DEPARTMENT of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) on Tuesday signed the agreement with Ayala Corp. for the P1.96-billion Daang Hari-South Luzon Expressway (SLEx) Link road which will be implemented under the government’s public-private partnership (PPP) program.

Ayala won the deal in December, outbidding San Miguel Corp. consortium.

The build-transfer-operate agreement involves the construction of a four-kilometer, four-lane toll road from the junction of Daang Hari and Daang Reyna in Las Piñas and Bacoor in Cavite, to the Susana Heights interchange in Muntinlupa.

The project will also include the construction of a new bridge and widening of the existing bridge crossing SLEx as well as the expansion of the Susana Heights toll plaza.

The contract was signed by DPWH Secretary Rogelio L. Singson and Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala, Ayala Corp.’s chairman and chief executive officer.
