Cavitex Infrastructure Corp.,  operator of  Cavite Expressway,  targets to start  early next year the construction of  an  P8-billion expressway linking Cavitex to C5.

In an interview, Jose Luigi Bautista,  CIC president told reporters the C5 link alignment has been approved by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) . The proposed alignment would be presented to the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) next month for approval.

CIC is optimistic the plan would get the approval of the TRB to meet its  internal target of starting the detailed engeineering and design by the third quarter.

Bautista said the P8-billion investment would be funded by a  combination of loans and internally- generated cash.

Daily traffic volume in Cavitex averages about 102,000  vehicles. This volume is  expected to increase by 6 percent by yearend.

Bautista said Cavitex has breached the P1-billion revenue mark last year. Revenues are expected to hit P1.2 billion this year.

CIC is a unit of Metro Pacific Investment Corp.
