The Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Center was invited to speak in two webinars hosted by the Department of Energy (DOE), in partnership with the EU ASEP-TA and ASEP CELLs, entitled (i) Journalists Bootcamp 3: Financing Modalities and Tools to Advance Energy Efficiency and Conservation in Local Planning and Development in the Philippines on May 18, 2021, and (ii) Energy Efficiency & Conservation Forum: Financing Modalities and Tools to Advance Energy Efficiency and Conservation in Local Planning and Development in Visayas & Mindanao on May 20, 2021.

The webinars discussed the Energy Efficiency & Conservation Law (Republic Act No. 11285), financing modalities of energy efficiency projects, and the role of Local Government Units (LGUs) in energy efficiency which allowed participants to be better equiped in handling energy efficiency projects. The webinars were attended by the media, various LGUs and electric cooperatives, and the academe. This event was also supported by other development partners in the energy sector such as the Asian Development Bank (ADB), USAID Energy Secure Philippines (USAID ESP), and the World bank (WB).
