Taguig ITX Groundbreaking Ceremony

The Taguig Integrated Terminal Exchange (Taguig ITX), formerly called South Integrated Transport System Project held its groundbreaking ceremony on January 17, 2018, at Taguig ITX, FTI Compound in Taguig City.

Under a Build-Transfer-and-Operate (BTO) scheme, the PPP project involves the construction of a passenger terminal building, automated arrival and departure bays, installation of public information systems, a centralized ticketing system, real time vehicle management, baggage handling facilities, and park-ride facilities. The Taguig ITX aims to connect passengers coming from the provinces of Laguna and Batangas to other modes of transport: rail, city buses, taxis, and other public utility vehicles that are serving inner Metro Manila. The project also aims to significantly reduce congestion in major thoroughfares in the metro.

ARCA South Integrated Terminal Inc. (AyalaLand Inc.), the winning private proponent, will undertake the design, construction, and financing of the project as well as the operation and maintenance of the whole facility. The proponent also aims to make Taguig ITX an integrated and multi-modal facility that would provide a better commuter experience in the metro upon its completion in 2020.
