The PPP Center conducted a knowledge sharing and action planning on PPPs with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) for its PPP ICT agenda. In her opening remarks, PPP Center Executive Director Ma. Cynthia C. Hernandez talked about the Philippine PPP Program, its pipeline of projects, policy, and capacity-building initiatives.

“The ICT Sector is ripe for PPP and we believe a lot can be done to harness private sector financing, technology, and innovation. PPPC commits its support to the DICT in its PPP initiatives,” the PPP Center chief said.

Meanwhile, PPP Center Deputy Executive Director Eleazar E. Ricote conducted the PPP workshop with the DICT officials. He reiterated the various support that the PPP Center can provide the DICT.

“Building a pipeline of projects and formalizing a PPP framework for the ICT sector are the two urgent items for the DICT, LGUs, and other concerned agencies. Help is available through the PPP Center and other development agencies,” Ricote explained.

Among those present during the knowledge sharing and action planning on PPPs were DICT Secretary Ivan Uy and the Department’s Undersecretaries, USAID Director Eric Florimon Reed, and USAID-BEACON Project Chief of Party John Garrity.
