The PPP Center conducted a PPP Project Concept Note Development Workshop for the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental on June 8-9, 2022 in Bacolod City.

The participants were led by Atty. Alberto P. Nellas Jr., Provincial Legal Officer and then OIC-Provincial Administrator, and Atty. Jessa G. Genteroles, the Provincial Focal Person for PPP Projects. The PPP Center training team was led by Ms. Dionne Marga M. Larin, OIC-Director III of the Capacity Building and Knowledge Management Service together with officers from the Center’s Capacity Building Division, Project Development Service, and Project Monitoring Division.

The two-day workshop aimed to capacitate members of the Provincial Selection Committee, officials, and technical staff of the Provincial Government regarding PPP Concepts, the general features of the PPP project life cycle, and the main components of a PPP Project Concept Note. The workshop aimed to assist the Province in drafting a PPP Project Concept Note which provides initial information about the proposed PPP project and a starting point for preparing a full-blown project proposal.

The initiative is also in line with the larger technical assistance being provided by the United States Agency for International Development – Safe Water Project to the Province of Negros Occidental which aims to help communities in these provinces gain reliable access to clean water by increasing access to resilient water and sanitation services, improving water resource management to ensure sustainable supply, and strengthening water sector governance.
