The Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Center, in partnership with the Asian Development Bank (ADB), will hold a Forum on Renewable Energy (RE) and Waste-to-Energy (WTE) PPPs at the New World Hotel, Makati City, on August 30, 2019.

Senator Sherwin T. Gatchalian, Chair of the Senate Committee on Energy, will be the keynote speaker of the forum. Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Ernesto M. Pernia will welcome the participants from the private and public sector. High ranking officials from the Department of Energy are also set to attend, including representatives from the Renewable Energy Management Bureau and the National Renewable Energy Board.

The forum aims to promote PPPs in the energy sector, as the country’s demand for energy is exponentially increasing and waste generation is continuing to rise to unmanageable levels. This is a gathering of local and international experts in renewable energy and waste-to-energy, private sector investors and technology providers, and financing institutions. The invited experts and resource persons will help provide a clear understanding of the Philippine government policies and guidelines and initiatives on renewable energy and waste-to-energy PPPs from both local and international perspectives.

Representatives from national government agencies (NGAs), local government units (LGUs), development partners, and other investors in the energy sector are also expected to join the forum.
