The Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Center has engaged the Resources, Environment, and Economics Center for Studies, Inc. (REECS) to deliver a comprehensive capacity development program that captures climate change mitigation, adaptation, resiliency, and disaster risk management readiness factors and challenges for PPP projects.

The first part of the program, titled “Foundation Course on Climate Change, Disaster Risk Management, and Resiliency” was conducted on September 6-9, 2022 via a hybrid training modality with participants simultaneously attending in-person at the PPP Center Board Room and online via Zoom.

The foundation course focused on leveling the knowledge of participants regarding basic concepts, relevant policies and frameworks, tools and techniques concerning climate change, disaster risk management, and resilient infrastructures.

Participating national agencies include the PPP Center, Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS), Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), and the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA). Meanwhile, the Provincial Governments of Kalinga, Ifugao, Mountain Province, Maguindanao, Bataan, and the City Government of Iloilo participated in the program as well.

The second part of the program titled “Mainstreaming Climate Change, Disaster Risk Management and Resiliency in the PPP Process” is scheduled on September 21, 28, October 5 and 11.
