Director John Dominic Zafe of the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Center discussed the Philippine PPP experience during the Asia-Pacific Green Deal for Business Roundtable held at Vientiane, Lao People’s Democratic Republic last November 1, 2023.
Director Zafe talked about climate-resilient development, and the provision of infrastructure through PPPs, and other modes of cooperation that can help governments tap the expertise, know-how, and investment capabilities of the private sector.
The Roundtable provided a forum to discuss the challenges of developing sustainable infrastructure in Least Developed Countries (LDCs) and Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs). The meeting was held as part of the Asia-Pacific Green Deal for Business initiative, which seeks to promote a green transformation of the economy for the well-being of all people in the region.
The Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) organized the event with the objective of developing recommendations on how the private sector can work with public sector entities to deliver the sustainable infrastructure necessary for a green transformation.
