The Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Center highlighted its support to pursuing PPPs in the water sector during the Water Forum 2022: Innovations and Partnerships for Water Security on August 31, 2022 at the Makati Diamond Residences.

Serving as one of the panelists during the forum, Deputy Executive Director Eleazar Ricote shared his insights on financing water infrastructure and services. He also discussed how the PPP Center collaborated with the USAID Philippines Safe Water Project and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to provide technical assistance to the bulk water supply project of the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental. This arrangement was formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement between PPP Center and the Provincial Government. The project aims to address the increasing water demand of Negros Occidental by developing surface water as a sustainable source of potable and resilient water supply, reducing the province’s dependency on deep wells.

The forum was organized by the USAID Safe Water Project in collaboration with the Philippines Disaster Foundation, Manila Water Company, Inc., and Maynilad Water Services, Inc. in an effort to provide improved access to water supply and sanitation services to communities and build resilience to ensure a water-secure future.
