The Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Center held an orientation on the Philippine PPP Program for the Municipal Government of Buug, Zamboanga Sibugay on September 5, 2023 at Badsbro Farm, Buug, Zamboanga Sibugay.
Led by Mayor Dionesia B. Lagas, and Vice Mayor Jonam R. Lagas, the attendees, composed of Sangguniang Bayan members and secretariat, Finance and Bids and Awards Committee members, and municipal government department heads and officers, gained a comprehensive understanding of the PPP Program and actively explored possible PPP opportunities for the development of their tourism and other infrastructure projects.
Mr. Agape Sem B. Comendador of the PPP Center’s Capacity Building and Knowledge Management Service covered the PPP concepts, process and legal frameworks, and a focused overview of Joint-Venture (JV) concepts and local JV processes under the DILG-PPPC Joint Memorandum Circular No. 2019-01.
During the session, Mario A. Baterna, Provincial Director of the Department of the Interior and Local Government Zamboanga Sibugay also shared valuable insights regarding possible PPP opportunities in the area, enhancing the depth and scope of the discussions.
The activity is a milestone towards developing strategic priority infrastructure and development projects of the Municipal Government.
