The Public-Private Partnership Center (PPPC) in partnership with the Office for Alternative Dispute Resolution (OADR), Singapore-based Infrastructure Asia, and Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) conducted a two-day online capacity building activity (OCBA) on Dispute Resolution in PPP Projects on June 29-30, 2021 via MS Teams.

The OCBA sought to inform the participants about Executive Order No. 78 and its Implementing Rules and Regulations, provide knowledge on ADR mechanisms, and recognize basic international arbitration matters. It also served as an opportunity for the implementing agencies to learn about local and international ADR mechanisms. During the open forum, the participants were able to interact with the subject matter experts and practitioners from PPP Center, OADR, SIAC, Ministry of Law Singapore, Singapore International Mediation Center, Singapore Infrastructure-Dispute Management Protocol Working Group and Reed Smith.

Around 150 participants from various implementing agencies (national government agencies, regional line agencies, government-owned and controlled corporations, local government units; and state universities and colleges) joined the activity. Majority of the participants are transport operations supervisors, health officers, engineers, economists and the rest are lawyers, research specialists, department managers and project development officers.
