The Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Center of the Philippines and Singapore-based Infrastructure Asia (InfraAsia) convened at the Center’s board room on March 23, 2022 to discuss the next steps of their partnership.

“While it is nice to reach the destination, the journey is the most important part as it is where we learn the lessons,” said Mr. Lavan Thiru, Executive Director of InfraAsia, who attended the meeting together with Leads, Mr. Matthew Tien and Ms. Shaila Narendran.

PPP Center Deputy Executive Directors Eleazar Ricote and Jeffrey Manalo; Directors Maria Lerma Advincula, John Dominic Zafe, Feroisa Francisca Concordia, and Dionne Marga Larin; and Attorneys Aislyn Yao and Lester Añonuevo discussed projects and plans to advance infrastructure development in the Philippines, through knowledge sharing, market sounding, policy formulation, and project development and monitoring.

The discussion focused on expanding the partnership to emerging sustainable infrastructure solutions, including renewable energy, cold chain facilities, green buildings, waste management, water supply and sanitation, and development of the ICT sector.

The PPP Center is the central coordinating and monitoring agency for all PPP projects and program in the Philippines. Meanwhile, InfraAsia, established by Enterprise Singapore and the Monetary Authority of Singapore, seeks to support infrastructure financing and development in the region.

This meeting is part of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the PPP Center and InfraAsia, which was signed during the state visit of Singaporean President Halimah Yacob at the Malacañang Palace on September 2019 and was renewed in an online ceremony on October 2021.
