The Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Center conducted an orientation on the Philippine PPP Program for the Local Government Units (LGUs) of Mindanao on July 29, 2022 at the Ritz Hotel Garden Oases, Davao City. PPP Center Director Feroisa Francisa Concordia of the Capacity Building and Knowledge Management Service (CBKMS) conducted the orientation. In her talk, Director Concordia highlighted PPP as one of the mechanisms that LGUs can explore to implement renewable energy (RE) and energy efficiency (EE) projects. She also shared the Center’s openness to collaborate with key agencies and development partners to develop a pilot PPP RE/EE project for adaption.

The event was organized by the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) as a capacity-building activity for LGUs on Renewable Energy Project Development. It seeks to raise the understanding of LGUs about the nation’s renewable energy plans and where local renewal energy plans can align accordingly. It also seeks to encourage LGUs to initiate renewable energy projects by enhancing their knowledge of renewable energy business models prevalent in the country.
