The PPP Center conducted an online capacity building activity (OCBA) on local government health projects last August 27, 2021 via MS Teams. The OCBA is co-organized with Infrastructure Asia and supported by the Department of Health (DOH) through its Public-Private Partnership for Health-Project Management Office (PPPH-PMO).

Mr. Jose Miguel J. Deanon, Development Management Officer under the DOH’s Performance Monitoring and Strategy Management Division, Engr. Robert Angelo V. Lim, OIC-Program Officer of the PPPH-PMO, Atty. John Dominic Z. Zafe, Assistant Director of the PPP Center’s Project Development Service, and Mr. Carl Retschko, Executive Director of Plenary Group, served as resource persons for the half day OCBA.

The OCBA aimed to provide updates on the initiatives toward achieving universal healthcare in light of the ongoing pandemic, to discuss key considerations in developing and implementing local health PPP projects, and to share international experience in implementing health PPPs.

The session was attended by officials and staffs from eight local government units and officers from the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine, the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority, the University of the Philippines Office of the Vice President for Development and the DOH Regional Centers for Health Development.
