The Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Center held the second batch of Introductory Course on Joint Venture Arrangements (JVA) for Local Government Units (LGUs) on November 15-19, 2021 via Zoom.

A total of 104 participants composed of officers and staff from 44 LGUs, one regional government agency, and two NEDA Regional Offices (NROs) attended the online capacity building activity (OCBA).

Participants included the City Governments of Antipolo, Rizal; Balanga, Bataan; Butuan, Agusan del Norte; Cabadbaran, Agusan del Norte; Island Garden City of Samal, Davao del Norte; Mandaluyong; Masbate; Muntinlupa; Ormoc, Leyte; Ozamiz, Misamis Occidental; Quezon City; and Tagbilaran, Bohol and Provincial Governments of Batangas, Cavite, Davao del Norte, Laguna, Ilocos Norte.

Representatives from the Municipal Governments of Balayan, Batangas; Bayambang, Pangasinan; Bauan, Batangas; Bobon, Northern Samar; Capoocan, Leyte; Dingras, Ilocos Norte; GMA, Cavite; Guiuan, Eastern Samar; Pilar, Bataan; Quinapondan, Eastern Samar; and San Fernando, Romblon also participated with the Ministry of Trade, Investments and Tourism – Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao; and NROs in the Ilocos and Cordillera Administrative Region.

The OCBA, which was conducted in synchronous and asynchronous sessions, covered the following topics: Philippine PPP Program, Project Development and Monitoring Facility, JVA concepts, solicited and unsolicited processes under the Department of the Interior and Local Government and PPP Center Joint Memorandum Circular No. 2019-01, sample LGU JV Projects, and framework for developing and assessing local PPP Codes.
