The development of the Mariveles Wellness Center Project has officially started through a kick-off meeting led by the Department of Health (DOH) and the Public-Private Partnership Center on August 20, 2021. The consulting firm, Sycip, Gorres, Velayo & Co., hired through the Center’s Project Development and Monitoring Facility, will conduct the feasibility study (FS) and provide technical assistance to DOH until the successful tender of the Project.

The Project involves the construction, operation and maintenance of Mariveles Mental Wellness and General Hospital’s Wellness Center, including the ancillary facilities and amenities such as parking area, dormitory, museum, information center/advocacy video theater, and commercial spaces for lease (subject to further validation in the FS). Specifically, the Wellness Center is envisioned to operate as a facility offering holistic mental and medical services, including therapeutic services and complementary and alternative medicine to promote early intervention and prevention of mental illnesses.
