The Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Center and the Municipal Government of Del Carmen, Surigao Del Norte signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to institutionalize their cooperation to develop and implement infrastructure and development projects in the municipality through PPP. The MOA was signed last June 27, 2022.

The MOA, signed by Mayor Proserfina M. Coro and PPP Center Executive Director Ferdinand A. Pecson, outlines the technical assistance that will be provided by the PPP Center for the LGU’s PPP projects. The projects identified by the LGU, such as a multi-purpose recreational facility, eco-hotels, a municipal slaughterhouse, and a commercial center, among others, intend to accelerate the recovery of the LGU from the COVID-19 pandemic and Typhoon Odette.

With the PPP Center’s Local PPP Strategy and implementation of Executive Order No. 138, otherwise known as the “Full Devolution of Certain Functions of The Executive Branch to Local Governments, Creation of a Committee on Devolution, and for Other Purposes”, PPPs could be one of the options that LGUs may consider in light of the bigger funds that they will be receiving owing to their increased share in national taxes and revenues.
