The Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Center conducted a briefing on the PPP Code and its Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) for the Department of Health, on May 30-31, 2024 at the Hotel Tugos, Baguio City.

Atty. Lester A. Añonuevo, Director IV of the PPP Centers’ Legal Service discussed updated PPP concepts and institutional arrangements, and other salient provisions under the PPP Code and its IRR. For his part, Deputy Executive Director Jeffrey I. Manalo presented an overview of the reforms introduced in the solicited and unsolicited processes.

Undersecretary for Special Concerns and Public-Private Partnership Cluster, Dr. Ma. Francia Miciano-Laxamana stated that the capacity building activity (CBA) was organized to further promote the advancement of PPPs in the healthcare sector, as well as to update DOH officials and staff, and select DOH hospitals on the new PPP Legal framework.

The CBA also served as an avenue in sharing of inputs and good practices from DOH’s invited representatives from the private sector and development institutions, such as Asian Development Bank, The Law Group, and Heal Venture Lab.

A total of 50 participants, composed of DOH Officials, representatives from select DOH hospitals and DOH Centers for Health Development participated in the CBA.
