DPWH Secretary Mark Villar, Cavite Governor Jesus Crispin Remulla, Cavite Third District Representative Alex Advincula, and Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation President Rodrigo Franco led the groundbreaking ceremony of the Cavite segment of the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) on March 27, 2019, at Brgy. Alapan 2-B, Imus City, Cavite. The CALAX Project involves the financing, design and construction, and operation and maintenance of a 4-lane, 44.63-km closed-system toll expressway connecting the Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX) and the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX).
