With the passage of the Baggao Joint Venture Code last July 27, 2022, the Municipality of Baggao, in Cagayan, is inviting interested bidders to participate in the competitive selection for its Joint Venture Baggao Water Supply Project. The Invitation to Apply for Eligibility and to Submit a Proposal was published last December 6, 2022 in the Manila Bulletin. Bidders will undergo the competitive selection process, using the single/stage or simultaneous track of the Baggao JV Code.
The bidding documents can be secured through online transactions and will be available from December 12, 2022, to January 13, 2023 at the PPP Center website and the Municipality of Baggao website.
The water supply project has a 25-year JV term and involves the design, financing, construction, testing, operation, and maintenance of a Level III Water Supply System that will provide a safe and reliable water supply system to 24 barangays.
The Municipality of Baggao has a pending water permit application to the National Water Resources Board (NWRB). Based on available information from NWRB, no water permit has been granted covering the possible identified water sources for the project.
Baggao has a total population of 87,753 based on the 2020 Census of Population and Housing, making it the third most populous town in the Province of Cagayan. It is foreseen that more economic opportunities will be opened in the municipality following the completion of Baggao – Peñablanca Road, which cut the travel time to Tuguegarao City from 2.5 hours to 1 hour.
