Project Description

The project involves the construction of the following segments:

  • R-1 Expressway, which involves the upgrading of a 6.6 km two-lane dual carriageway to a three-lane dual expressway standard in a highly populated coastal area;
  • The C-5 Link Expressway, consisting of the construction of a 6.0 km, three-lane dual carriageway in a highly populated urban area; and
  • The R-1 Expressway Extension, which involves the construction of 11.4 kms of two-lane dual carriageway, 5.0 kms of which will be a viaduct.

Segment 3 - ongoing construction
Segment 3A-1: Inaugurated and opened to traffic on July 23, 2019.
Segment 3A-2: Opened to traffic on August 14, 2022.
Segment 3B: Ongoing ROW Acquisition by DPWH at 67.33%, as of March 2023. DED Drawings approved by TRB.

CIC is set to implement new toll rates starting on May 12, 2022.
