The project involves the construction of the following segments:
R-1 Expressway, which involves the upgrading of a 6.6 km two-lane dual carriageway to a three-lane dual expressway standard in a highly populated coastal area;
The C-5 Link Expressway, consisting of the construction of a 6.0 km, three-lane dual carriageway in a highly populated urban area; and
The R-1 Expressway Extension, which involves the construction of 11.4 kms of two-lane dual carriageway, 5.0 kms of which will be a viaduct.

R-1 Expressway: Segment 1 - Operational
C-5 Link Expressway Segment 2 - ongoing construction. Ongoing construction is 32.68% complete, as of August 2022. Ongoing ROW Acquisition by DPWH is at 85.83% complete, as of September 2022. Segment 3 - ongoing construction Segment 3A-1: Inaugurated and opened to traffic on July 23, 2019. Segment 3A-2: Ongoing construction is 97.26% complete, as of August 2022. Ongoing ROW Acquisition by DPWH is at 99.98%, as of August 2022. Segment 3B: Ongoing ROW Acquisition by DPWH at 56.78%, as of August 2022. DED Drawings approved by TRB.
