Project Description

The project involves the construction of a new world-class passenger terminal building in MCIA, with a capacity of about 8 million passengers per year; and the operation of the old and new facilities. The construction of a new world-class passenger terminal, including all related facilities, is proposed to separately cater to domestic and international operations.

Status

Construction 100% complete as of August 27, 2019. Terminal 2 commenced operations on July 1, 2018; Terminal 1 rehabilitation works completed on August 27, 2019.

Based on the submitted O&M Report for Q1 2023, the Concessionaire is compliant with the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

On February 15, 2023, MCIA was awarded Asia’s Best Airport among 200 airports in the Asia Pacific under the “5 million passenger category” in the 2023 Routes Asia Awards in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
