Project Description

The project involves the construction of a new world-class passenger terminal building in MCIA, with a capacity of about 8 million passengers per year; and the operation of the old and new facilities. The construction of a new world-class passenger terminal, including all related facilities, is proposed to separately cater to domestic and international operations.

Construction 100% complete as of August 31, 2019

Terminal 2 commenced operations on June 30, 2018; Terminal 1 rehabilitation works completed on August 31, 2019

During the enhanced community quarantine implemented in the Cebu Region, only sweeper and cargo flights were allowed to operate until May 15, 2020. Operations for domestic commercial flights at Terminal 1 resumed on June 6, 2020. With the opening of the first dedicated Covid-19 Testing Laboratory at Terminal 2 on July 12, 2020, International Flights restarted its operations on July 15, 2020. Both Terminals are implementing new protocol and routine to ensure passenger health safety.
