Project Description
The project involves the construction and development of approximately 27-km rail transit system composed of the following:
- Cebu Central Line, a 17.7-km elevated monorail transit system with 14 stations;
- Cebu Airport Line, a 9.3-km elevated monorail transit system with six (6) stations; and
- A 5-hectare depot facility to be located close to the Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA).
Project Objectives
The Project aims to provide a fast, reliable, and efficient transport to reduce the dependency on road-based public transport modes and private cars to allviate the current traffic congestion within Metro Cebu, serving major traffic generating districts and the Mactan-Cebu Airport.
